The basic bridge is a good way to start using your glutes to create hip extension. #runners #cyclists #hikers and anyone who wants a stronger butt will benefit from the bridge. Bridges on two legs are easier than bridges on one leg. Progress the bridge by putting your feet on a bench, then by putting your upper back on a bench with your feet on the ground. It's important to keep the abs engaged and the ribs pulled down. Perform it correctly and you won't feel any low-back pain and your hamstrings won't cramp. It may help to do some hip flexor stretching prior to performing the bridge. #lowbackpain #glutebridge #glutebridges #glutes #gluteworkout #glutework #hipextension #runningstrong #strengthtraining #movementvariability #strengthandconditioning #cyclist #trailrunning #runnerstrength #strengthrunner #strongcyclists #mtbstrengthtrainingsystems #hipstrength #hipstrengthening #fitnessdenver #denverpersonaltrainer #fitness |

– This has been called the hip airplane and the tippy bird. Whatever you call it, it trains single-leg stability and hip internal/external rotation. The glutes, lower-leg and stance foot get a lot of work. It's a surprisingly tough exercise. The 1st video shows both an unloaded and a loaded version using a #vipr. The 2nd video uses a band around the knee to further challenge the hip abductors. This exercise is excellent for athletes who need precise control and strength while on one leg: #runners, #cyclists, #mountainbikers, #trailrunners to name a few. – Movement should come from the hip, not the lumbar spine or arms. Rotate and drop the hip of the lifted leg down toward the stance leg, (internal rotation) then lift it up away from the stance leg (external rotation.) Think of a light s***ning out of your bellybutton. Sweep the light down and around then up high and away from the ground. #mountainbiker #mountainbikerider #running #runner #runrunrun #trailrunner #ultratrailrunner #runningstrengthtraining #strengthrunning #runningstrength #movementvariability #strengthandconditioning #strengthcoachtoolbox #strengthcoach #strengthcoachtherapy #functionaltraining #functionalfitness #functional #denverpersonaltrainer #denverfitness #hiprotations #hipinternalrotation #stretchandstrengthen #hipexternalrotation |
